A tour Lucca and Volterra – two towns that have remained forever in the history of Tuscany.

Volterra – an exceptionally preserved fortress and one of the most important cities of ancient Etruria, a columna and a settlement established before Christ where the life of the ancient race was bustling, leaving behind countless artefacts which are carefully preserved at the Granacci Museum and which, by the way, very much resemble the ancient Thracians ones. One of the oldest castles – the Palazzo dei Priori is also to be found in the town, along with the Cathedral of Santa Maria Assunta and the Baptistery. Throwing a glance at the ancient theatre we can also get acquainted with the famous producers of alabaster, a material for which local craftsmen are famous.

Lucca, the former capital of Tuscany, a jewel of architecture built in the Pisano-Romanesque and Gothic styles. The city played an interesting role in the 12th and 13th centuries when most of the churches were built at the command of Bishop Frediano. Antiquity and romance reigns in the city and passing through the church of San Michele, the San Martino cathedral, and the birthplace of one of the classics of opera we are literally transported to a different spirit and era. Every summer the Lucca Summer Festival takes place with some of the most famous rock stars in the world, and the famous Lucca Comics & Games Festival is also organized. Upon request, a visit can be arranged with a wine tasting tour and a selection of local products.
